INFO::Join us on Saturday, October 23 for the Forest Preserve District of Will County's first fall dog extravaganza at Whalon Lake Dog Park in Naperville/Bolingbrook! From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., this free event will offer a variety of fun activities and demonstrations for you and your pup. Pick out your dog's favorite costume and enter in a costume contest and parade, or show off your dog's special talents in a tricks competition. Try your luck in a dog-friendly game of musical chairs. Say cheese with your pup at the pet photo booth ($6/photo) and decorate a picture frame to show off the shot. Enjoy a dog agility/obedience demonstration and ask the instructor about your dog's behavior. Visit exhibitors including a variety of pet and food vendors and non-profit rescue groups. Take good care of your pup with free microchipping, free wellness checks, and nail trimming. Enter into raffles and enjoy free give-aways. You can also purchase a Forest Preserve District dog park permit for 2011. There will be so much to see and do! A water station will be available, but please bring a bowl for your dog. INFO::The 7th annual Tails in the City Halloween Party and Pet Parade is on Sunday October 24th. You and your dog will not want to miss one of our most popular events of the year! Please join us this year on Sunday October 24th at 11:00 am as we parade to Washington Square Park for an afternoon of fun and games. Admission is $10 per dog and all proceeds go to PAWS Chicago. Prizes will be awarded in our costume contest. That’s right, enter your dog in our costume contest for scariest costume, most creative costume and cutest costume! Prizes will be awarded to all the winners. INFO::The event will be held rain or shine. Halloween has gone to the dogs at this event that is open to all size pups. Owners and dogs are encouraged to come dressed up in their favorite costumes. Activities include a doggie parade, photos with the owner and dog that can be purchased from the photographer, doggie/owner look-a-like contest, art project, drawings and give-a-ways. The local pet businesses will set up tables and offer goods and services for dogs.
